Sacred Moments in Life

At First Church we are a fully inclusive community and want to walk with you wherever you may be on the journey of life. A community that considers itself to be spiritual and not religious, we believe that sacred moments or sacred rituals can provide deep and abiding spiritual experiences and transitional moments in one’s journey.

At First Church we baptize infants, children and adults. Baptism is a sacred tradition that dates back to Jesus and his early followers, but also connects us to our Hebrew/Jewish brothers and sisters. If you desire baptism, please contact Pastor James and he will discuss options with you.

Weddings are also a time of celebration and transition in life. At First Church we provide wedding services designed specifically for your needs and wishes. We use a variety of different orders from very traditional to contemporary. A wedding ceremony should reflect the couple and their values as they come together and ask the blessing of the Divine and their family and friends. We also have musicians that can be hired to assist as well as an in-house wedding planner. The sacred space, courtyard and Pilgrim Hall are all available for your special day. In addition, weddings can be done in whatever space and location that you find special meaning.

Celebration of Life & Memorials

Celebration of life and memorials, are also sacred moments offered to the community. Memorials and celebrations of life also need to meet the needs of family and friends, offering an opportunity to grieve and let go, but also moments of hope. Memorials and celebration of life are also tailored to your individual needs in this moment of transition. Musicians are also available for these celebrations of life.

Please contact the church office at 602-259-6891 or Pastor James for any of these sacred and transitional moments in life.
