BIRD CITY BIKE COOP:
BIKE CHURCH

Our mission encompasses repairing, restoring, and repurposing bicycles, as well as fabricating bike trailers. We are dedicated to educating individuals about bicycle repair, empowering them to fix their own bikes. Our goal is to provide bikes and bike support to those in need. We aspire for this initiative to evolve into a lasting and impactful mission for our church, aligned with our commitment to supporting poor, marginalized, indigenous, LGBTQ+, and neurodivergent individuals within a safe and welcoming community.

  • Our Bike Shop

Bird City Bike Shop has tools, stands, a workbench, tables, chairs, and parts. We provide drop cloths to keep the floor clean, coffee, snacks, a boom box with music, a banner with our logo, outreach efforts, encouragement, stickers, donations, and financial support.

  • Bike Community

We aim to connect with other bicycle organizations to identify and assist our target clients. We have partnered with Phoenix Spokes People and Valley Metro, hoping to foster mutually beneficial connections and support.

  • Bike Spirit

Our purpose is to explore the connection between bicycles and spirituality. We will embrace this journey and see where it leads us. To begin, we propose a bike blessing: May you feel safe, may you be healthy, may you ride happy.

  • Bike Stories

Sit around, drink coffee, and share bike stories. Where did you get your first bike? Who gave it to you? What's the origin story? How can bicycles help and empower people? What bicycle stories should we preserve? How do these stories relate to and support our other intersectional subprojects? What can be accomplished on a bicycle, and how can sharing these stories inspire and empower others? Let's get started!
