Outreach & Justice

First Church UCC Phoenix encourages all to practice their faith in action by engaging in our Justice and Outreach Programs. We partner with various organizations who align with our mission and vision, one that advocates for the just, fair, and equal treatment of all people.

1st Wednesdays of every month, 7:30 - 8:30 pm - Room 5, Education Wing

From 7:30-8:30 pm on the 1st Wednesday of every month, this roundtable is open to the community and seeks to organize around policy reform along with collaborating with Valley partners for social services, such as feeding or providing clothing.

1st Saturday of the Month
10:30 am - 12:00 Noon Room 7, Education Wing

All are welcome to join our inclusive, thoughtful discussions. The reading list is updated to reflect both the interests and ideas that have arisen during previous month’s discussions. Open to the Community. Contact Yvonne Harrison or Melani Longoni with questions at office@phoenixucc.org

Immigration Task Force

2nd Wednesdays of every month, 7:30 - 8:30 pm - Anthony Lounge, Education Wing

Except for our indigenous sisters and brothers, we in the United States are all descended from immigrants, whether voluntary or involuntary. Caught once again in an era of intolerance, how quickly we forget that welcoming the stranger has been a blessing for us all.

This Task Force not only organizes around immigration reform, we also provide Sanctuary, Migrant Hospitality with Valley-wide community partners, as well as DACA and gap scholarships for those living in Arizona.

The Art of Justice Open Mic & Art Show

Last Tuesdays of the Month 6:00 - 9:00 pm - Pilgrim Hall, Education Wing

Art of Justice is an all ages open mic and art show experience. We seek to express the reality of systematic injustice through visual and performing arts, ultimately promoting activism and direct action.

Our church has a history of supporting the LGBTQIA+ community by hosting a number of groups and events at our church that advocate for dignity and the right to love.  We are designated as an Open and Affirming Church.

Allies & Partners

At First Church UCC Phoenix, we are excited to support the work of varying groups that align with our Mission and Vision statements. Many of these allies and partners have been cultivated over several years or through our church and community members. If you are interested in teaming up with us, please contact our Community Outreach at: community@phoenixucc.org or Office Manager at: office@phoenixucc.org.
